Our previous stories are the proof of the ever increasing demand of this Nokia smartphone. Amazon Wireless boasts a 5-star rating of the phone which resulted in the high demand worldwide.

Boasting 4g, 1.4 single-core chip, 16 GB storage, 8MP rear-shooter with front camera, 4.3” AMOLED display with ClearBlack technology, 512 MB RAM makes this phone a complete power packed phone. This is yet another reason for you to pick this phone from the wide range of smartphones available in the market.

When Samsung unveiled the Focus 2 at the CTIA, the long awaited “Mandel” saw light again. Only to be released a couple of weeks later on AT&T.

The Focus 2 packs a 1.4GHz single-core CPU, 4  inch 480×800 WVGA Super AMOLED, 5 megapixel camera and a 1750mAH batter. But sadly, the phone is available only in Glossy pure white. Another drawback is that the phone packs only 8GB of non expandable memory.

The Focus 2 is an alternative to those at AT&T who want Mango and LTE both, as Lumia 800 does not have LTE. But for $49.99, we don’t feel the specs are a deal breaker.

Did you ever think the sales of the phone would vary depending on the color?

A quick answer would be probably a “NO”. You are mistaken, sirs and madams.

We have reports that the color has caught the eyes of handful people who would buy the phone if available only in “Cyan-blue”!!!!

Nokia cannot to afford to lose the sale for color. Therefore Nokia is managing to restock the stores with Cyan Nokia Lumia 900. This popular color of the LTE handsets seem to have been ordered in smaller numbers and thus, the Black version has arrived back on AT&T virtual shelves – in case the HOT color is still not available in stock.

This could turn to be a lose/win situation for Nokia; only if the demand and supply ratio is balanced- while there is time!!!

Nokia 710 Tango OS update is doing the rounds on the Nokia Care Suite servers. China experiences the Windows Phone 7.5 Consumer Release (CR) 3 with the ROM 1600.3029.8773.12111.

Windows Phone OS 8773, the “gold” version of Tango supports smaller changes like 256 MB devices and MMS enhancements. With Mango CR1 (8107) or Mango CR2 (8112) OS already updated in many of the phones, the new CR3 stands a little chance. AT&T is expected to rollout CR3 (8773+) for future devices to keep up the pace with other OS in the market.

Lumia 710 users can now update the new ROM from the Nokia server and receive the notifications from Zune desktop within few days. A safe bet for China to update their Lumia 710 using Nokia Care Suit. With the language pack on board not known, the risk to download the OS is entirely yours.

Our earlier post pointed out that first few devices of Lumia 900 purchases from AT&T were having connectivity issues. Nokia, with the objective of “Keeping people first”, quickly looked into the problem and promised a quick fix. The $100 credit on the phone bill to the first few faulty phone was offered until the fix arrived. The faulty phones could either be replaced or swapped with the un-affected unit only until midnight PST April 21st.

Nokia states:

Earlier this week, Nokia communicated about a memory management issue with the recently launched Nokia Lumia 900 at AT&T that, in some cases, was leading to a loss of data connectivity.

When this news was issued on Tuesday, Nokia had identified that a software update would be available for consumer download on or around April 16th. Today, we’d like to share with you that the update is now available. Consumers now have the opportunity to update their AT&T version Nokia Lumia 900 software through Zune and Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac earlier than anticipated.

Consumers are still able to swap out their Lumia 900 for an updated Lumia 900 in an AT&T store if they’d prefer. And, of course, the $100 credit offer will remain in effect through Midnight PST on April 21st.

Easy cash for lucky few…!!

Microsoft and Nokia have been pretty busy pushing the Windows Phone. With AT&T coming into the picture, the game was quite clear – Lumia 900 was to be AT&T’s new flagship.

We all know that a flagship is something which the carrier/store pushes with all it’s might. But this is not the case with AT&T. As an article points out on CNET, who conducted a secret shopper survey of 5 AT&T stores in Manhattan. They did not find the Nokia Lumia 900 high on the list of recommended handsets. Here is what happened

…But when I asked for advice on buying a new smartphone, sales associates in five different stores in Manhattan actually recommended the Apple iPhone and not the carrier’s latest "hero" device.

Even when I prompted them to tell me more about the Lumia 900, none was willing to recommend it to me for purchase.

"Windows Phone is alright," said an associate in a store on the Upper West Side. "But it’s no iPhone."

This became clear to me when I walked into the AT&T stores and told each associate I encountered that I had never owned a smartphone but was looking to buy my first one. I explained I didn’t have any preconceived ideas about which device I wanted to buy. I told them I was a PC user, who knew little about cell phones and was looking for something easy to use. My main objective for owning a smartphone was to access email, surf the Web and check Facebook.

While all these activities could be easily achieved with a Windows Phone, associate after associate first pushed me to toward an iPhone and then suggested an Android device as my second option.

"For your first smartphone, you should get an iPhone," an assistant manager at an AT&T store told me. "When you get bored with that, you should try an Android phone."

When I asked him about the Lumia 900 and the Windows Phone OS for someone such as myself who had never had a smartphone, he told me he thought it was too complicated. He admitted he hadn’t used the Lumia 900 much. He had only gotten the device a couple of days before the launch on Sunday.

No wonder we will see competition on the east coast between Android and iPhone only.

LTE Windows phone has hit the market in less than a week, and the credit goes to AT&T and Nokia. Nokia tied with Microsoft, and secured the device on US Network. AT&T being interesting in a handset with LTE forced Microsoft to bring the technology forward.

Thus, Nokia Lumia900 was developed in 10 months. All this was possible with the intense hard work round the clock between US, Finland and China along with the Qualcomm for the modified chipset to make LTE modem work with Windows Phone7. The technology, thus developed was a success and was made available to other Windows Phone OEMs, resulting in HTC Titan II.

Teamwork anyone…???
