Microsoft updates WP7 application certification requirements again

MS has again updated the application certification requirement. This time the reason cited is similar as the last time: help developers publish their applications more easily.

The new application certification requirements will be forced into effect from June 3, 2011. According to MSDN, the benefits of these changes are:

• Better usability. To improve discoverability and usability, certification requirements have been integrated with core developer documentation on MSDN.
• Higher pass rates. To improve pass rates and to further improve certification transparency, test steps now guide developers through in-house application testing during the development cycle.
• Clearer requirements. To address common developer questions, several content policy and technical requirements have been clarified.
