We haven’t heard too much from the Japanese company Access Co. recently – the boys moronic behavior managed to alienate not only its closest followers, but also most licensees which were interested in ALP at some point of time.

Mobile Business Briefing now states the following:

Microsoft licensed a number of smartphone technologies owned by Japanese software provider ACCESS. The deal covers “innovations created by ACCESS, Palm, Palmsource, Bell Communications Research and Geoworks.”

Given that Microsoft has tried to use patents to go after Android houses which don’t also do Windows Phone 7, the decision to increase the amount of “battle stock” makes sense!
