Don’t ask me why, but tablets are all the rage after rumors of an upcoming Apple tablet have first hit the road. HP has introduced one, Archos plans one and HTC logically follows suite. Or so it seemed – as it looks now, HTC’s tablet has just been “scrapped”.

ChannelNews claims the following:

Anthony Petts, Sales and Marketing Director, ANZ, for the HTC Corporation said that all work on the planned tablet had been suspended and that the Company was now “focusing their efforts on a new generation of mobile phones” including new offerings running the Google Android operating system.

As of now, not much further information is available. However, Apple will hold a press event on the 27th – which should help the whole tablet thing fall into shape…
