So much for waiting to release Windows Mobile 6.5, Microsoft – clonedinchina.com shares the images below:

According to them, the device is a rip-off of the HTC Touch Viva with an important twist: it is based on a reference platform from Huawei, and runs a version of Windows Mobile 6.5 which is said to be taken from xda-developers.

Even though quite a few of you will crucify me for this opinion (especially those working at hardware houses): these clones are great! They will add even more diversity to the Windows Mobile market, and will furthermore open new markets to third-party developers.

Microsoft could obviously do a lot for these critters by offering a cheaper version of Windows Mobile 6.5 – as Microsoft has a nice bit of revenue from the Marketplace, this could actually be more possible than we all think.

Either way, things have just become very interesting – what do you think?
