Dell: we explore smartphonesThe last few days saw an increasing flood of rumors about Dell-sourced smartphones running either Windows Mobile or Android – unfortunately, nothing has been leaked so far. However, Michael Dell hi9mself made the following statement according to Computerworld Wireless:

“It is true that we are exploring smaller-screen devices,” he said. “We don’t have any announcements to share today, but stay tuned as when we have new news we will share that with you.”

When asked about his feelings on purchasing another company (e.g. Palm) in order to accelerate entry into the market, he responded by stating:

Dell said buying other companies remains an option for expansion into the smartphone market but noted that its acquisitions focus is elsewhere at present.

As of now, no further information is available. However, I am pretty sure that we will see more very soon – stay tuned!
