Sprint is getting ready to release a huge ROM update for its version of the Touch Diamond according to WMExperts. While ROM leaks usually are uninteresting, this one is important – as it proves that existing devices can be upgraded to IE 6 Mobile.
The change log is as follows:

I can fully understand why Sprint’s Touch Diamond gets this upgrade: its mother carrier is big and sells these boxen by the cartload. Providing users of this device with a ROM update containing the latest technology increases the life time of the box…which gives Sprint even more time to sell it (and another advantage over Verizon’s slower version of the same box).
Verizon could deploy a similar update of its own shortly, as to keep the playing field leveled out. Other manufacturers….well, this could get interesting…
