It’s this part of the month again – both BrightHand and Krusell have just released their market share figures. Here’s the nitty-gritty:
BrightHand mindshare stats
BrightHand’s mindshare stats measure which handsets get the most “mindshare” on their web site and well-visited forums. The figures in the brackets represent last month’s position:
- T-Mobile G1 (5)
- Omnia i900 (4)
- Touch Diamond (2)
- BlackBerry Curve 8300(7)
- XPERIA X1 (1)
- iPod touch (9)
- Nokia E71 (3)
- BlackBerry Pearl 8100(6)
- HTC Touch Pro (-)
- BlackBerry Curve 8330
Only one device fell out of the rankings this month; it was the Samsung BlackJack II. This means that there is no WMS in the top-10 anymore – the OS breakup is now free of WMS and Palm OS devices.
Krusell sales stats
Krusell is a Swedish seller of cases for mobile devices (not limited to smartphones) – this means that their figures can be considered a “guideline” for the European cell phone market in general:
1. (-) Samsung SGH-i900/i910 Omnia
2. (7) Nokia 6300
3. (2) Sony Ericsson C702
4. (1) Apple iPhone 3G
5. (3) Nokia 3109
6. (-) Nokia N96
7. (-) Sony Ericsson X1 Xperia
8. (8) Nokia E71
9. (6) Nokia E51
10. (4) HTC Diamond
() = Last month’s position.Like a rocket, Samsungs new smartphone Omnia hit Krusell’s Top 10 list for November!
-I believe that this is Samsung’s first No 1 position since we begin to publish the Krusell Top List, says Ulf Sandberg MD at Krusell. Nokia still has a very strong position; an “old” device such as 6300 is holding the second place, which is pretty surprising. For next month I foresee that Omnia will be challenged by LG’s new smartphone Renoir, which is predicted to be a volume seller in the high-end segment. The Swedish manufacturer of carrying cases for portable electronics, Krusell, releases its “Top 10″-list for November 2008. The list is based on number of pieces of model specific mobile and smart phone cases ordered from Krusell during November 2008. Krusell’s list is unique due to the fact that it reflects the sales of phones in six continents and in more than 50 countries around the globe.
As usual, the Tamoggemon content team thanks all companies who provided us with data!

Saying the Brighthand Top 10 is free of “WMS” could mislead people who don’t know or catch that WMS means “WM Smartphone”. (It almost got me, as I thought you just meant “Windows Mobiles”.)
There are four WM devices there, but they’re all WM Professional.
Sometimes abbreviations are bad.
