Long-term readers of this network probably know about my deep loathing for Asus: the company deceived customers, always ranks rock-bottom in terms of service speed (data from the German c’t), has a completely imbecilic press team…the list is long.
The cancer of idiocy has now started to propagate into Asus’s development department – I have no idea why their latest smartphone hasn’t got (a bit more) RAM.

I personally love how the folks at Asus’s advertise the processor…we can all guess why the entire product page doesn’t mention the system RAM as of this writing:
The ASUS P565′s 800 MHz processor—which posts Vsbenchmark scores almost two times that of competing products in its class—merits more attention. It enables the P565 to deliver graphics and system performance beyond anything else on the market at present, making it ideal for businesspeople who demand uncompromising performance and maximum speed from their productivity tools. With the P565, getting through resource-intensive tasks such as editing documents with heavy multimedia content, browsing the Internet and watching videos is a breeze.
A-ha. Heavy web surfing and video watching with 128MB of RAM. Good joke there, Asus.
In the end, I am sure that I won’t purchase a P565 as I don’t want Asus to burn me later. Nevertheless, it’s always funny to see what these mad hatters are up to.
