Apparently, the rumors about delays with the XPERIA X1 delivery have been grossly exaggerated – an official press release from Sony Ericsson has now detailed the launch strategy for the hotly-awaited device with the crappy keyboard.
2a Sony Ericsson announces plans for XPERIA X1 roll out

Our Swedish, German and UK-based readers will be the first capable to spend about 1000$ for the device, as it is said to hit these markets on the 30th of September.

32 further countries in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America are said to get the device in Q4 2008:

APAC
* Indonesia, Singapore, Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam

Western Europe
* Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands, Austria, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Portugal

Central Europe
* Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic

Middle East
* UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait

Africa
* South Africa

Latin America
* Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia

Russia, China, Australia and the USA are so-called “committed launch regions” without an ETA.

The information above blends in nicely with our advertising rag scoop claiming that the XPERIA X1 will hit Austria in October – more on that can be had here
