The folks at Palm’s never liked industry standard ports too much – they would probably have rolled their own external memory card if they could. While the reasons for this are diverse (crappy product quality being high in the list), people wanting to plug a 3.5″ headset into their Treo 800w get to pay the price.
A Seidio representative has just announced that his company has decided to kill its headphone adaptor for the 800w:
OK guys….I have some bad news.
I found out today that this audio adapter is more difficult than we had previously anticipated.
The decision has been made to put this project on hold indefinitely. If something changes I will definitely let you know.
I sincerely apologize for any inconveniences.
Thanks,
Should you be one of the unfortunate owners of an 800w: the only solution except AD2P involves the use of Palm’s MiniUSB->2.5″ converter ganged up with a 2.5″->3.5″ converter…
