It looks like Samsung’s Omnia is not only an impressive, but also a pretty cheap phone - the Austrian carrier A1 plans to offer it for just 99 Euros along with a 24mo contract:

When comparing this price with other WM devices, one can see that it is almost 3x cheaper: the cheapest HTC device starts out at 300 Euros and does significantly less than the Omnia does.

Any ideas?
